February 2008

It’s been another exciting month here in Peru. Norah’s getting bigger and her problem with acid reflux seems to be doing a lot better now. It’s hard to believe that she’s already four months old! I’ve posted a lot of pictures and stories on our blog if you’re interested in checking it out. Just go to www.cfme.wordpress.com, and you’ll be able to keep up to date on a daily basis with what’s going on.

Even though it’s summer time down here, the ministry is as busy as ever. I started teaching English again and we have almost 150 different students signed up. On a normal night we have about seventy in the basic class and another twenty-five or so show up for the advanced course. Right now, I’m teaching both classes back to back for about two and a half hours straight. It’s a lot of fun, and I’ve had tons of opportunities to connect with the people here in the city.

Our Friday night Bible study has been growing. We make the announcement at the beginning and end of every English class that we have it in my house every week. All fifteen visitors who we’ve had this month are English students of mine. Most of the people in our group are not yet saved, and every week they have tons of questions about the Bible and how they can have true peace in their lives.

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine brought a young lady, named Miluzca, to our house. He said that she wanted to learn more English and that he told here we were the people to go to. When they arrived, we all talked a little while, and then Gretchen asked Miluzca if she wanted to start a discipleship lesson in English. She agreed, and after about an hour of talking in my office they both came out beaming. Miluzca accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior! As you can imagine, we were all excited about it.

Praise the Lord for the way He is working in and through our lives down here. Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue to take the gospel to those who have never heard. We don’t have a lot of time left here before we head to North Africa, so please be praying for us to make the most of it and for God to continue working miracles.

To God Be The Glory,
