Gretchen and I want to thank you for your faithful prayer and support. We have made our move to the mission field and life here as been anything but dull. Since we arrived in South America on February 15, we have not stopped going.
Moving Along
The Lord has given us several ministry opportunities recently.Last month I had the privilege of speaking in Cochababma, Bolivia, and preaching for five minutes each night at a mission conference in Juliaca, Peru. A couple of weeks ago, I traveled with Chris Gardner to Cuzco, Peru where he preached in a family conference giving me ten minutes to speak each night.
Ministry Opportunities
When I got back to Arequipa, the Lord opened up a door of opportunity for me to begin an English class at Iglesia Bautista Fe (Faith Baptist Church). Every Tuesday and Thursday I teach for one hour and then get a chance to meet with the visitors. People, who have never been to a Baptist church before, will come twice a week to learn a little English. We have over 150 on role and each night 95 or more attend. My goal is to use these classes as a step for lost people to get familiar with and involved in the church. Soon I will be starting an English Sunday school class along with a Bible study for the unchurched.
Please continue praying for us as we go forward in our ministry. In two weeks I will begin teaching a four week course on Islam at the Bible College here in Arequipa. After preaching in a youth meeting last Saturday at La Iglesia Bautista Esmirna (Smyrna Baptist Church), a teenager told me that he also wants to be a missionary to the Muslims. Pray for more men like him who will catch the vision of 1.3 billion people dying without ever hearing the hope found only in Christ Jesus.
To God be The Glory,
Tyler Masters
