Strategic Impact 2008

We were caught off guard when we heard that our good friend and co-laborer in North Africa, Aaron, had a tumor in his lungs last month. It ended up being benign and the doctors were able to remove it completely. The surgery went better than expected, however they still had to remove an entire lobe in his right lung. He’s doing well now and is expected to make a full recovery soon. Thank you for your prayers on his behalf.

Because of this unexpected emergency, we had a decision to make about the Strategic Impact internship in North Africa. After praying about it, we decided that it would be best to continue with the trip as planned. The only problem is that Aaron is not able to return to North Africa until the middle part of July (about two weeks before the internship ends). To keep everything running the way that it needs to, Gretchen, Norah, and I had to make an emergency trip to Morocco earlier than we expected.

We’ve been here in the country for a week now getting everything ready for the students to arrive. This coming week ten college students from the States will join us here in the city of Tangier to begin teaching English and doing outreach to the community. We already have about forty Moroccans registered to participate in the classes, and if it works the way that it normally does another twenty will show up unannounced as well. The goal is to make solid contacts with as many North Africans as possible and share the gospel with them.

Please be praying for the group as we travel and share Christ with hundreds of Muslims who’ve never heard the gospel before in their entire life.
